Michelle Culloty is a Primary School Teacher in Co.Kerry who has taught a wide
range of class levels in a variety of school settings. Her background includes a
degree in Computer Science and a Postgraduate Diploma in Educational
Leadership.
For six years, Michelle was seconded to the PDST (Professional Development
Service for Teachers), and subsequently Oide, on the Primary STEM Team.
During this time, she played a key role in designing and delivering CPD for the
Primary Mathematics Curriculum, and developed strong insight into its structure
and implementation.
She has a keen interest in assessment, and recognises how powerful the
effective use of Maths Journals in a cohesive manner can be for a school. She is
also passionate about promoting a positive disposition towards Maths and
believes that all pupils can experience success with Maths.
The Journal has been designed to be child-friendly, inclusive and fun, to
encourage all pupils to believe that their thoughts about Maths are valuable and
unique.
Michelle continues to facilitate whole school training, webinars and face to face
professional development sessions.
